Uneven Pavement

I was dropped off at another beach instead but it's cool, it was an awesome beach, Suluwan Beach. I had a wonderful breakfast and watched people surf from the hilltop balcony. After I relaxed a bit I walked out, and headed towards Padang Padang Beach. I learned today that there's a lot of locals on their motorbikes looking for tourist that are walking to give them rides. "At the end of the day your feet should be dirty, your hair messy and your eyes sparkling " - Shanti  Sacred Monkey Forest in Ubud. Today was my first full day in Indonesia, I had an acai bowl for breakfast and immediately got a "Taksi" to Ubud's Sacred Monkey Forest. I'm not sure if my pictures do the place justice, it was absolutely beautiful and the monkeys were so much fun! I bought a small bunch of bananas and fed about 6 different monkeys. Every time I took a banana out those monkeys came rushing towards me and climbed on me! It was fun :)  Once I was done exploring the forest I ventured out to explore Ubud a little more. This is where I am staying, Karana Residence. I finally made it to Bali, Indonesia ! Goodness. So many emociones. I left Oregon on Tuesday... and arrived today Thursday at 2:40pm Bali time. Woah. My first flight from Portland was to Canada ( 1.5 hour flight), then Canada to Singapore (13 hour flight), then Singapore to Manila (3.5 hours ) and finally Manila to Bali ( 3 hours) + about 9 hours at airport transfers... phew!!!  As soon as I arrived at the Bali airport I took out some rupiahs from the ATM and headed out to find a taxi. My "taxi" ended up being some random guy who wasn't a taxi and got lost trying to find Karana... sigh. Wasted 1 whole hour, I mapped it out beforehand and  it was supposed to be a 6 minute drive from airport (eye roll) The roads in Bali are like a labyrinth and everyone is on scooters. Tulum I am finally back from my birthday trip in Cancun,Quintana Roo and a day in Yucatan.  My 26th birthday was a blast, I was up and about every single day so I did not even have time to blog. I am going to try my best to recollect everything I did. Every time I go to Cancun I see something new and experience something different. Cancun is paradise on earth! One of the most beautiful places I have been to (And well of course it's a big plus that it's Mexico). At Mandala Beach on the day of my Bday The first day we were relaxed and had dinner at our hotel, the next day the plan was to go to Isla Mujeres.  That day was rainy and icky, but of course still fun! we rented a golf cart and went to Playa Norte where we got amazing full body massages ( 1 hr for 25$ !) we shopped a little and then went back to our hotels to get ready for Coco Bongo. After a wonderful breakfast today we set out for adventure. Rented a golf cart for 24hours (that seems to be the way of transportation on the island) we rented it for $50 US dollars. We explored the island a bit and headed off to the "secret beach" after about 30-40mins of driving we made it to the secret beach, which actually doesn't have a beach but instead has piers to hang out on. The water was beautiful! We relaxed a bit, took some pictures and came back to our place. So rumor has it that we might be expecting Hurricane Earl tomorrow so places are shutting down and we supplied our little home with food and water. Our afternoon was on the beach with some ice cream floaties. Tanning. Relaxing. Taking in the calm before the storm.
