First day in New Delhi

Well today was my first day in New Delhi! I arrived at 1am and was picked up on time (yay because my friend waited 3hrs). I was lucky to come on the day that the place I am staying at was hosting a Mango-Lia Day! We hoped on to a car and headed to a nice place close by where we were greeted with mango necklaces and lots and lots of mangoes to eat!!! And boy were they delicious! I ate like 10 and then I was stuffed!!! After that we had dominoes pizza for lunch...but as you may already imagine it was a little different! All vegetarian of course (I hope I lose some weight while I am here ;)) mine had pieces of corn and cheese! It was good. After we ate we headed to the pool, but this was not so much fun, as there were 4 ladies including myself and 20 old men came in and joined...some only with underwear on... (offically first culture shock) And so we fled the situation and took a small taxi and then I rode the metro! Which was super cool because they have a section for women only. On my ride to The Grand I saw the contrast of the rich and the poor, one side literally was mansions!!! Beautiful beautiful homes!!!! While the homes in the other side were not so nice to say the least. After the metro ride we finally arrived at our destination which was an absolutely beautiful hotel, we headed to the pool where there was nice music and free food! The pool was great and there was people from all over the world there, we had an amazing time, and now I'm back in my temporary home:) what a day! Can't wait to start my internship!!!
delicious mangoes!

¡Ya llegué!

This is where I am staying, Karana Residence. I finally made it to Bali, Indonesia ! Goodness. So many emociones. I left Oregon on Tuesday... and arrived today Thursday at 2:40pm Bali time. Woah. My first flight from Portland was to Canada ( 1.5 hour flight), then Canada to Singapore (13 hour flight), then Singapore to Manila (3.5 hours ) and finally Manila to Bali ( 3 hours) + about 9 hours at airport transfers... phew!!!  As soon as I arrived at the Bali airport I took out some rupiahs from the ATM and headed out to find a taxi. My "taxi" ended up being some random guy who wasn't a taxi and got lost trying to find Karana... sigh. Wasted 1 whole hour, I mapped it out beforehand and  it was supposed to be a 6 minute drive from airport (eye roll) The roads in Bali are like a labyrinth and everyone is on scooters. Once I got settled I threw my stuff in my room and headed to the beach.  I got to see the sunset and after all those flights and lost ...

Koyo

"Before it's your favorite place, it's a place you've never been " It is Koyo ( the changing color of the leaves, autumn) season! I have always loved the fact that Oregon gets 4 seasons. Japan gets four seasons as well! The bright oranges and reds are just incredible here. I have been revisiting some of my favorite spots around my new town to see how they change with the seasons. Here are some pictures at Jogakura Bridge.

Ya'll asked for it so here it is: My 10 day itinerary for The Philippines.

Twin lagoon. Oh boy was it hard to pick what Islands I would explore. I had been waiting to visit this beautiful side of the world for soooo long and I kept putting it off because the planning for it is difficult. The Philippines is composed of over 7,000 islands and transportation from island to island is not that simple or convenient at times  depending which ones you want to see). But guess what I finally made an itinerary and it worked out perfectly and now I am back. I still can't believe I checked off The Philippines from my country list. I will be back one day to explore more for sure! Before embarking on this journey I knew it would all be beautiful but once there it exceeded my expectations. If you love nature, beaches, waterfalls, cheap food and learning about a new way of life this is a must country to visit. I did a lot and saw a lot below I will do a little bit of my favs.  My favorite activities where: Swimming with whale sharks Canyoneering Kawasan...
