Food

Hello!

I finally went shopping for groceries so I can start making my own meals! I also bought a lot of fruits and veggies, yum! The fruits are sooo delicious especially the mangoes. I made some pasta today, so I won't have to buy food at work tomorrow, so I am very happy about that.

Today I got my suit, and I tried it on and I love it! I can't wait to order Saree! (here's a little preview)

Work has been going well, I am currently researching in depth the Adolescent Education Program. I am a little worried though because the money my dad deposited for the program has not been received yet, I really hope they did not lose it!!!! I have been at the office a lot and want to get out and do more field work instead, I like working directly with and for the people, I am getting a little bored with just the research, all very good reads, but there is nothing like seeing, feeling and smelling a program!

¡Ya llegué!

This is where I am staying, Karana Residence. I finally made it to Bali, Indonesia ! Goodness. So many emociones. I left Oregon on Tuesday... and arrived today Thursday at 2:40pm Bali time. Woah. My first flight from Portland was to Canada ( 1.5 hour flight), then Canada to Singapore (13 hour flight), then Singapore to Manila (3.5 hours ) and finally Manila to Bali ( 3 hours) + about 9 hours at airport transfers... phew!!!  As soon as I arrived at the Bali airport I took out some rupiahs from the ATM and headed out to find a taxi. My "taxi" ended up being some random guy who wasn't a taxi and got lost trying to find Karana... sigh. Wasted 1 whole hour, I mapped it out beforehand and  it was supposed to be a 6 minute drive from airport (eye roll) The roads in Bali are like a labyrinth and everyone is on scooters. Tokyo in January

Riding our go-karts on Ginza street I went to Tokyo again, I think I will be going a lot... There is just so much to see and do, and EAT! ( I am 3 hours away on bullet train, 1 hour away by plane, or 10 hours away if I drive)I have been extremely busy and super cold ( Like what I imagine it is like being at The Wall in Game of Thrones ) so I have not been motivated to do much outside of trying to keep warm ( I live in a newer apartment complex and the insulation is horrible....read up about insulation in Japan. It blows my mind. And while you are at that read about heating sources...also interesting...sigh) I hate being cold!!!! .....Sob story over. Anyway on to Tokyo. So this last time I went I spent 4 days in Tokyo. I also went with Akira which was a grand blast! We did the Mario Kart rental and drove all over Tokyo streets! It was AMAZING! Paraíso terrenal

Tulum I am finally back from my birthday trip in Cancun,Quintana Roo and a day in Yucatan.  My 26th birthday was a blast, I was up and about every single day so I did not even have time to blog. I am going to try my best to recollect everything I did. Every time I go to Cancun I see something new and experience something different. Cancun is paradise on earth! One of the most beautiful places I have been to (And well of course it's a big plus that it's Mexico). At Mandala Beach on the day of my Bday The first day we were relaxed and had dinner at our hotel, the next day the plan was to go to Isla Mujeres.  That day was rainy and icky, but of course still fun! we rented a golf cart and went to Playa Norte where we got amazing full body massages ( 1 hr for 25$ !) we shopped a little and then went back to our hotels to get ready for Coco Bongo.
