Ladies Trip to Belize

Well it's been well over 3 years since I wrote on this blog! I've taken many trips ever since. I actually forgot my travel journal and started taking notes on my iPhone and then I though well jeez I could open up that blog again....

So here we are it's 2016 and I came to Belize with my college besties!

Yesterday we took a water taxi ($35 round trip each) from Belize City to San Pedro.

Our real full day started today with breakfast at Estels next to the beach, it was wonderful and we got to try the fry jacks! Which are a belizean must try! They were yummy! Basically like a fry bread that taste more like a thick elephant ear with no sugar (we added butter and mermelada and voila!)
Then we rented a golf cart for 35 belizean dollars an hour ($1 US dollar = 2 Belize dollars). We took a short little tour around San Pedro and stopped at a restaurant to have some drinks.
After that our day adventure began- Hol Chan Shark Ray Alley! We took a boat out with 3 Aussie boys Ryan (Ron), Ben and another dude whom I forgot his name but he was nicknamed "easy" by our tour guide. We got to swim in the largest live barrier reef on the Western Hemisphere and it was wonderful! We saw turtles, fishes, sharks and rays! After our trip we came back to our stay and had dinner at the Palapa Bar- I highly recommend! ( definitely lived up to it's Instagram-hype) I got the lobster quesadilla with a homemade tortilla and my table neighbor Kina had shrimp tacos which were even better! We ended the night up on the hammocks and then Kina and I continued the night playing dice with some other people in our hostel (Hostel La Vista) and then took a dip in the ocean. I'm pretty tired now because I literally swam for 2+ hours, so that's our day in short. Goodnight world, tomorrow is another day.

P.S. Maybe tomorrow this blogger-thing will let me upload pictures (it's a struggle from my phone).

Koyo

"Before it's your favorite place, it's a place you've never been " It is Koyo ( the changing color of the leaves, autumn) season! I have always loved the fact that Oregon gets 4 seasons. Japan gets four seasons as well! The bright oranges and reds are just incredible here. I have been revisiting some of my favorite spots around my new town to see how they change with the seasons. Here are some pictures at Jogakura Bridge.

Ya'll asked for it so here it is: My 10 day itinerary for The Philippines.

Twin lagoon. Oh boy was it hard to pick what Islands I would explore. I had been waiting to visit this beautiful side of the world for soooo long and I kept putting it off because the planning for it is difficult. The Philippines is composed of over 7,000 islands and transportation from island to island is not that simple or convenient at times  depending which ones you want to see). But guess what I finally made an itinerary and it worked out perfectly and now I am back. I still can't believe I checked off The Philippines from my country list. I will be back one day to explore more for sure! Before embarking on this journey I knew it would all be beautiful but once there it exceeded my expectations. If you love nature, beaches, waterfalls, cheap food and learning about a new way of life this is a must country to visit. I did a lot and saw a lot below I will do a little bit of my favs.  My favorite activities where: Swimming with whale sharks Canyoneering Kawasan...

Okinawa Get-Away

" Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer"-Unknown Heart shaped rocks in Oki Well I finally checked off one of the prefectures I wanted to visit off my list. Okinawa, Japan it has been called the Hawaii of Japan by many tourists. I have been to Hawaii and I agree that it is the paradise of the country. I went with my friend Anna and a new friend that made (friend of Anna's) Ben. We rented a car and three different AirBnB night accommodations while we were in Okinawa, at it was the best decision we made because we got to see everything we wanted to see! Granted the Island is not that huge but still, we checked off our lists.  Rainbow and unicorn bagels at Caracalla. Our first stop was Caracalla bagels, and boy was I glad we got our hands on these colorful bagels...because they had the last 3 when we got there! They sell out everyday and we went on a Thursday thinking we wouldn't have that issue. Phewww that was close. Lowkey (thanks Ben...
