Halloween @ Lavish in Hirosaki

"Believe in yourself and nothing can stop you" - Sailor Moon

This weekend was one for the books. Friday we had a work Enkai (work party) to celebrate the completion and success of our recent HR visit/ events and long after hours of planning. International Relation jobs are no joke when it comes to planning big events. All in all it was so great and so worth celebrating Friday with delicious food!

Saturday Anna and I were invited as special guests to an elementary school talent show, this is the third one I attend this month. I was crying a lot! and I did not even know these kids, they were just sooo cute! ( I can't even begin to imagine what kind of mother I will be) They had a wizard of Oz play, lots of great singing, playing of the Pianica ( it's an instrument all elementary kids learn to play, a piano/harmonica it's pretty cool) and other great performances.

Saturday night we headed to Hirosaki City to dance the night away at Lavish. Anna and I dressed up as Sailor Moon and Sailor Saturn. I don't really watch any anime and never really did until I met Akira who watches a lot of anime ( Dragon Ball Z,Death Note, Sword Art Online, ' Deadly Sins, Magi, Attack on Titan, Hunter X Hunter, Naruto, Code Geass, Full Metal Alchemist, and porbbaly others I don't currently remember) But Sailor Moon is the one anime that I like, the characters are super cute and relateable! It is basically about strong young women that fight evil and save the world but also have a life of their own. Anyhow...Lavish venue was a blast and I danced all night long, which is one of my favorite exercises!  I learned that in my whole state (Aomori) this is one of two places where people can come and dance. Japanese apparently don't dance for fun, and even Japanese weddings don't have a dance portion during receptions.

Here are so pictures of our fun night out:

We found all these Waldo Girls while we were doing PuriKura pics!

Our Saturday night dance crew (missing one)

PuriKura (Japanese photo booths- that make your eyes huge and face and body skinny, like all of them do. It's not an option you can select or unselect)

My before picture, right after I finished getting ready at my apartment.

After pic, coming home in the AM after a fun night of dancing (chilindrina buns-one up one down)

Ya'll asked for it so here it is: My 10 day itinerary for The Philippines.

Twin lagoon. Oh boy was it hard to pick what Islands I would explore. I had been waiting to visit this beautiful side of the world for soooo long and I kept putting it off because the planning for it is difficult. The Philippines is composed of over 7,000 islands and transportation from island to island is not that simple or convenient at times  depending which ones you want to see). But guess what I finally made an itinerary and it worked out perfectly and now I am back. I still can't believe I checked off The Philippines from my country list. I will be back one day to explore more for sure! Before embarking on this journey I knew it would all be beautiful but once there it exceeded my expectations. If you love nature, beaches, waterfalls, cheap food and learning about a new way of life this is a must country to visit. I did a lot and saw a lot below I will do a little bit of my favs.  My favorite activities where: Swimming with whale sharks Canyoneering Kawasan...

Koyo

"Before it's your favorite place, it's a place you've never been " It is Koyo ( the changing color of the leaves, autumn) season! I have always loved the fact that Oregon gets 4 seasons. Japan gets four seasons as well! The bright oranges and reds are just incredible here. I have been revisiting some of my favorite spots around my new town to see how they change with the seasons. Here are some pictures at Jogakura Bridge.

Okinawa Get-Away

" Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer"-Unknown Heart shaped rocks in Oki Well I finally checked off one of the prefectures I wanted to visit off my list. Okinawa, Japan it has been called the Hawaii of Japan by many tourists. I have been to Hawaii and I agree that it is the paradise of the country. I went with my friend Anna and a new friend that made (friend of Anna's) Ben. We rented a car and three different AirBnB night accommodations while we were in Okinawa, at it was the best decision we made because we got to see everything we wanted to see! Granted the Island is not that huge but still, we checked off our lists.  Rainbow and unicorn bagels at Caracalla. Our first stop was Caracalla bagels, and boy was I glad we got our hands on these colorful bagels...because they had the last 3 when we got there! They sell out everyday and we went on a Thursday thinking we wouldn't have that issue. Phewww that was close. Lowkey (thanks Ben...
