Paraíso terrenal

Tulum
I am finally back from my birthday trip in Cancun,Quintana Roo and a day in Yucatan.  My 26th birthday was a blast, I was up and about every single day so I did not even have time to blog.

I am going to try my best to recollect everything I did. Every time I go to Cancun I see something new and experience something different. Cancun is paradise on earth! One of the most beautiful places I have been to (And well of course it's a big plus that it's Mexico).

At Mandala Beach on the day of my Bday
The first day we were relaxed and had dinner at our hotel, the next day the plan was to go to Isla Mujeres.  That day was rainy and icky, but of course still fun! we rented a golf cart and went to Playa Norte where we got amazing full body massages ( 1 hr for 25$ !) we shopped a little and then went back to our hotels to get ready for Coco Bongo. To see the shows at Coco Bongo the price is about $70 USD BUT... what no one tells you is that if you start at the Congo and wait until about 10:30 pm to move on to Coco Bongo it's only $30 USD! they offer this and it's a better deal not only money wise but the Congo is popping! We had a blast :)

Snorkeling at Xcaret
The next day we went to Xcaret, we stayed out late the night before so we got to the bus station a little late and Xcaret is about 2hrs away. There is so much to see and do there just isn't enough time, to fully enjoy one must plan for 2 days, it's like the Mexican Disneyland. We swam in the underground river and snorkeled. We ate at the international buffet which I thought was delicious, and we ended the night with their spectacular show! This was so worth the entry cost! ( entry fee for Xcaret plus $89 USD ) The show made me so proud to be Mexican.

selfie with a sea turtle
September 14th, we headed to Tulum Zona Archeologica ( took the ADO bus and rode first class for the equivalent of $8 USD!) the drive was 2.5hrs away. We saw the ruins and then headed to the beach, we went on an amazing tour! and I got to swim up close and personal with manta rays and TURTLES!!!! SO MANY SEA TURTLES, I was so happy and still am so happy I got this wonderful experience. When I went to Belize and snorkel the barrier reef I only saw a baby sea turtle from far away...this was way cooler! Our evening ended at Playa del Carmen where we got another full body massage and did some souvenir shopping.
turtles!!!

The last full day we decided to wake up early and take a bus to Yucatan! We wanted to see one of the wonders of the world, Chichen Itza! Chichen Itza is incredible. I now know why it was selected as a wonder. The Mayans were amazing arquitects! The  temple has 4 sides, each side has 91 steps, 91x4= 364 and if you add the bottom counting Zero it's 365 which represents the days in a year. The temple is a calendar, there's so much more we learned about it- google this! also every single year twice a year on the same day the shadow of a snake comes down the temple ( snakes represent fertility) and then it goes back up, look up videos they are so cool! After that we visited cenote Ik Kil, which was also awesome! we swam and jumped off the highest steps.
Chicen Itza- one of the new wonders of the world <3

Playa Delfines at 7am
The last day I woke up early and headed to the beach and enjoyed a beautiful sun rise view. Every time I see nature alone I am reminded how blessed I am, to be alive and to be able to have the privilege of with traveling. Happy 26th, to me.

Corazón contento en Bali

" Pictures are a one way ticket to a memory..." - unknown Well I haven't blogged in some days now ( I don't plan on blogging every single day... some of you asked ) A lot has happened and my heart has been racing with excitement every single day. I am In love with the Islands of Indonesia, and I hope that you all can experience it some day. It's true that pictures are worth a thousand words, so here are some pictures and small captions. It's Tuesday on my side of the world, and my week in Indonesia is almost over. Every single time I go to a beach and go horseback riding I ask if I can take the horses into the water, thus far different state and country rules of places I have been to don't allow it. In the Gilli Islands horseback riding in the ocean is possible. I have  always wanted to ride in the ocean! My horse was swimming, I was swimming and the wind that hit my face whispered words of freedom. Goal number #35 - check!

¡Ya llegué!

This is where I am staying, Karana Residence. I finally made it to Bali, Indonesia ! Goodness. So many emociones. I left Oregon on Tuesday... and arrived today Thursday at 2:40pm Bali time. Woah. My first flight from Portland was to Canada ( 1.5 hour flight), then Canada to Singapore (13 hour flight), then Singapore to Manila (3.5 hours ) and finally Manila to Bali ( 3 hours) + about 9 hours at airport transfers... phew!!!  As soon as I arrived at the Bali airport I took out some rupiahs from the ATM and headed out to find a taxi. My "taxi" ended up being some random guy who wasn't a taxi and got lost trying to find Karana... sigh. Wasted 1 whole hour, I mapped it out beforehand and  it was supposed to be a 6 minute drive from airport (eye roll) The roads in Bali are like a labyrinth and everyone is on scooters. Once I got settled I threw my stuff in my room and headed to the beach.  I got to see the sunset and after all those flights and lost drive

First Stop - Korea

I made it to Korea!!! it was a very longgggggggggg plane ride (11hrs) and the last hour I started to feel sick, but I was able to take care of myself and now I am feeling my healthy self again! The plane ride was an experience in itself. First off it was the biggest plane I've ever flown in with 8 seats of width!!! and 12 flight attendants (yes, I counted). I thought it was very nice that  all the passengers got their own pair of slippers ^_^. Another thing I had never seen was that we all got hot wet towels handed to us from baskets with tongs which people seemed to use to either clean their hands or wipe their face, I choose to clean my hands. Lastly I got to enjoy some "Bibimbap" which is a famous Korean cuisine composed of steamed rice, minced beef and other veggies! xoxo, Yesi P.S Kudos to Asiana Airlines they collected money for UNICEF!!!!! what a great way to give back, and what a great idea to collect loose currency, a money little adds up!!!
